Don Schechter, President and Founder

Don Schechter directs all aspects of Charles River Media Group ventures. He brings a wealth of experience in production, marketing and technology to the client-centered business that he founded nearly a decade ago. In the constantly changing world of media, Don has demonstrated the consistent ability to stay ahead of the curve and to offer these insights across sectors in order to serve the needs of corporations, universities, non-profits, and government organizations throughout the US and the world.

Don holds two degrees from Tufts University where he is a part-time lecturer. For the past 7 years Mr. Schechter has taught and co-taught classes including “Making Movies,” “Producing Films for Social Change” and “The History of  Documentary.”  In 2007, Don won three Telly Awards for his film “Coventry.” His documentary, “A Good Whack -  The Making of: ‘Tonya and Nancy: The Opera’” premiered at the ReelheART International Film Festival in Toronto. Bruce Petschek, Director of Photography

Bruce Petschek is currently the Director of Photography for ”The Banjo Project”, a documentary recently purchased by WGBH and narrated by Steve Martin. Bruce has worked in film for over thirty years. He studied filmmaking at the Orson Wells Film School, and also produced video for Human Services at the College of Public and Community Service, University of Massachusetts, Boston. Mr. Petschek’s videos have won awards in film festivals from Rio de Janeiro to San Francisco.  He has worked on projects throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Central and South America and is a key member of Charles River Media Group.

 

Lisa Moore, Project Manager

Lisa Moore has worked as an independent producer/director for various theatrical and video productions since high school.  Her production background includes work at Digital Kitchen in New York, ABC’s “Scrubs” in North Hollywood, the CBS soap opera “As The World Turns,” the Cleveland Clinic, and live events for Nike.  Lisa graduated from Ohio University as her year’s Overall Outstanding Senior in the School of Media Arts & Studies.

 

Cody Signore, Assistant Director

Cody Signore has worked as an assistant director with Charles River Media Group for over two years. He graduated with a certificate in Digital Filmmaking from The Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University in 2007. His past experiences as a camera operator, editor, grip, and set dresser for both Narrative and Documentary films is an asset in his role as an Assistant Director.  He has also worked independently as an Assistant Director, Producer, and Set Dresser for a number of short films and feature films, such as the “Surrogates” with actor Bruce Willis, the independent feature film “The Aristocrat” and the short film “Avarice.”

 

Chuck Vuolo, PA, AC, Grip

After graduating from the Boston University’s Center for Digital Imaging Arts (CDIA), Chuck dove into the production world, spending time both as crew and director of numerous projects. Chuck has directed and written several short films including “Se Conformont Les Cheveaux,” Audience Choice winner at Ruff Cuts film festival.

Paul Doherty, Voice Artist

At age 15, Paul recorded in front of the Neumann U87 and was instantly hooked.  He has now voiced thousands of commercials and narrations for leading companies and institutions such as LG, IBM, Verizon Wireless, Time Warner Cable, Discovery Channel, and also a Telly Award-winning documentary.

Steve Van Oort, Voice Artist

Steve brings thirty years of broadcast and voice-over experience. His radio work includes stints in music, news and talk show formats. Steve has done thousands of commercials and narrations for companies across the United States. Steve is also the voice of CRMG’s answering service!
